Screening for Diabetes

Current evidence supports the screening of high-risk populations for type 2 diabetes:

· Those with symptoms of diabetes
· Obese patients
· Relatives of diabetics
· Women with large babies or who have had gestational diabetes
· Those with high blood pressure and/or high cholesterol
